Since 2006, Stodir has supported SÁÁ‘s Emergency Room – Vogur, a treatment facility for people who suffer from complications related to drugs and alcohol, and their families.
A bigger role in Iceland‘s health system
Founded in 1984, the institute’s clinics and recovery residences offer patients various treatment methods, depending on each patient’s needs. SÁÁ is responsible for the bulk of all alcohol and drug abuse treatment in Iceland. Each year approximately two thousand individuals enter the detoxification program and eight hundred of those patients then continue in the treatment program. Several thousand alcoholics, along with their friends and relatives, take advantage of the services offered by the SÁÁ outpatient units and recovery houses each year. SÁÁ employs around 100 people.
Stodir’s support, along with the support of other Companies, enables Vogur to provide better services and better accommodate patients who require emergency admittance to the institute’s facilities.
